The M/K GATS accurately measures liquid absorption rates and total capacity. The system delivers liquid to your sample, records the mass absorbed against time, then graphs the data as shown above. Absorption curves reveal differences between materials. Additionally, the system automatically refills the liquid reservoir and resets all test parameters, allowing you to run numerous absorption tests effortlessly. Employing a sensitive scale, slide, and software, the GATS runs both horizontal and vertical absorption test plates to determine both capillary and structural liquid uptake of your substrate.
The GATS is widely used in the many industries, including nonwoven, tissue, paper towel, textile, clothing, apparel, powders, polymers, and other materials. Measure absorbency in Sodium Bentonite, absorbency in cat litters -- almost any solid material that absorbs liquid can be measured with the GATS, in a method that takes user-variability out of testing. After each test is complete, data is downloaded to a PC and the liquid source is automatically refilled.
